The Oprah Message Most Never Heard

Oprah Winfrey has become a celebrity icon and an ambassador to those who believe in a dream and spend their live going after it. No matter if you watched every single episode or really didn’t care for her, no one can take away the hope she inspired into others.

The message most never heard was that anyone can do what she has done, if they are willing to do what she did. She had a passion for helping and making a difference in people’s lives. Her life was an example of living a legacy that impacted countless individuals.

She talked about the things most people where afraid of even thinking. I remember watching an episode about a child confronting the stepfather, who molested her. Just hearing the word child molester makes most people want to come unglued. I will never forget that episode, because it brought more healing and understanding to my past. And I didn’t even watch that many episodes. But I am sure there are millions of other people who have had the same experience.

She was a person who never gave up on her dreams. Just think how hard it was over 25 years ago for an African-American woman trying to make it in mainstream talk shows. I don’t think anyone can imagine the perseverance it took to make such a thing happen. And then go on to become a media empire.

Even though I don’t agree with all of her beliefs, I still think she is an amazing woman who continually demonstrated one thing. And this is the Oprah message I hope most everyone received. You have a message to share with the world.

The unfortunate thing for those people who watched every episode, gave up 6500 hours of their lives. Which ends up being 271 days. I am not saying it was a waste, but that is a lot of time some one could have been out making a difference in the world. This is the Oprah message most never heard. Get out there and make a difference in people’s lives rather then waiting and watching someone else do it.

Don’t get me wrong Oprah will be forever missed. Anyone who has made that big of difference in countless lives will leave a big void when they move on. Now we have a choice how we are going to respond. We can be sad and want her back, or we can pick up the flame she started and carry it on.

People focus on the tragedy all over the world, but what are they doing about it? They say, “Why would God allow this to happen?” First God didn’t allow it to happen and second there is a blessing to be had by helping those in need. Frankly, if you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.

The message Oprah carried can be compared to many who have gone before her, Mother Teresa, Lady Diana and so on, but there are going to be predecessors who can do more and I know this is what Oprah would want. That her example empowered someone else to carry the torch of changing peoples lives

Oprah thank you for 25 years of inspiration, you will be missed

If you were touched by Oprah, leave a comment and be sure to pass this message on

Be blessed,
